This is a seriously kickin' campground that everyone should make the effort to visit.  Albee Creek Campground is located in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park, tucked into the crook of the confluence of Albee Creek and Bull Creek.  The closest town for supplies is Myers Flat which is 13 miles south.  The Avenue of Giants is just 5 miles east.

Albee Creek Campground is positioned under a grove of second-growth redwoods which provide partial to completely shaded sites.  A few of the sites on the outside of the lower loop open up to a valley - something to consider for the stargazing crowds. 

The camp has a mixture of tent, trailer and walk-in sites.  RV and trailer campers are warned about the narrow drive into camp and the limited flat parking pads.  The camp road is paved and 4 of the parking spurs are also paved while rest are gravel.  Most sites are standard in size, fitting two small tents or a single large tent.  A handful of sites will only fit a small 2-4 person tent though.

Historically, this land was a fruit orchard before it was sold and turned into a campground.  Some of the sites still have fruit trees (these were budding when we took the 360º photos) which the local black bears enjoy grazing in the midnight hours.  If you don't like sharing your site with this level of wildlife, I'd keep this little fun-fact in mind.

From Campgroundreviews.com, another reviewer wrote the following, "We stayed here in a 33-foot motorhome.  This should be tent camping only as there are only a few sites that will accommodate a motorhome and they are not level.  The access road is a 5+ mile, one lane, full of pot-holes, blind curves, and redwood trees that our motorhome mirrors only missed by inches.  Small trailers will do just fine."

My shortlist includes The Avenue of Giants, hiking, biking, horseback riding, swimming, and fishing.  There are a few trails that start from the campground as well.  The day-use beach at Eel River at the California Federation of Women's Clubs Grove is recommended as well.
